Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
Barbara and Ted Wells from Long Island chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea charter fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL. With Sailfish on Barbara's mind and hoping to get lucky, fifteen minutes after leaving the dock two kites were flying at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale in 120 ft. of water. We put two live Goggle Eyes from each kite and one live Goggle Eye from the rigger. Our first fish was a 9 lb. Mahi Mahi from the right short and Ted was our angler, followed by two more Mahi Mahi's and a Kingfish.
Sailfish on the left short!!! – as he lethargically looked at the bait but was not interested – this fish must have fed not too long ago. Hoping the next one will show some interest, the live Goggle Eye from the outrigger screamed off line, as the Sailfish exited the water to show his magnificent colors – Barbara was our angler and she had her hands full. Thirty-five minutes later the Sailfish was at the side of the boat for picture taking and was released to do battle again.
With mission accomplished and Barbara being a happy angler it was time to retire into the a/c salon for the trip back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
