The last few months the snapper trips have been unbelievable and tonight's trip was no exception. Captain Adam was at the helm for the Saturday night snapper trip. We left the dock around 7 p.m. for the four hour charter with six anglers, including Roscoe and Pat. I have to tell you, these six anglers went to town on the snappers. We anchored the Lady Pamela III between 50 and 80 feet water and once a little chum was in the water the yellowtail and mangrove snapper bite went crazy! The red hot action yielded 120 snappers for what was a great nighttime fishing trip.

Today Mike and I had a four hour trip with Steve from the Florida Keys. He fished Fort Lauderdale on another charter boat last year and did not catch much, so we were hoping to change that for him. We started the morning trolling between 100 and 750 feet of water, and in about 450 feet of water we hooked a nice sized sailfish. It was only a two minute fight though, as he threw the hook.

We kept on trolling for another two and half hours catching three nice mahi-mahi and two Atlantic bonitos. Toward the end of the tip we trolled on in to 160 feet of water and switched to kite fishing with live baits hoping for a sailfish or a shark. Ten minutes before we were going to reel in the baits I saw a sailfish swim up to the left short kite bait. Mike quickly hooked the sailfish and Steve jumped into the fighting chair for the highlight catch of the day. This fish jumped all over the place right next to the boat, but didn't make any big runs. He sure put on a spectacular display; just the thing to show Steve what Fort Lauderdale fishing is really like!
