Fort Lauderdale Fishing with Topshotfishing and Capt. Zsak

L.P. Brown from Louisiana chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing. As L.P. boarded the boat, he was greeted by the Topshotfishing team. When asked what he was interested in catching, L.P. remarked, "food for the table".

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. L.P., an avid fisherman in Louisiana, was amazed by the short amount of time it took to get to the fishing grounds compared to back home. We started off trolling with two #8 plainers down both with sea witches and doubled hooked Bonito strips behind them. For surface baits we had two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips.

As we trolled the reefs zig-zagging from 80 ft. out to 300 ft. of water, L.P. was a busy angler going from one rod to the other reeling in his catch. Dave, our mate, wired and gaffed a total of: 11 Kingfish, 2 Mahi Mahi's, 2 Barracudas and 2 Tunas. L.P. remarked to me that it is cheaper to fly to Fort Lauderdale and to charter a boat than it is to go out fishing in Louisiana and spend 2 ½ hours getting to the fishing grounds.

It was now time to head back to the dock - L. P. retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. At the dock, Dave filet out his fresh catch for the night's dinner.
