Seas have been a consistant 4-6 feet with some sets coming through nearly 10 feet. This has kept the fish close to shore namely the Mahi-Mahi. Large schools are making there way south and fast. Earlier in the week the schools were larger 10-20 pound fish. Our client Bob Shafer brought along his fly rod and successfully accomplished landing some nice fish. As the week progressed the schools were of smaller fish in the 5-10 pound range.
Sailfish are piling through also as some boats were getting double digits right out of Ft. Lauderdale. The highlight out of the past couple weeks was yesterday as my crew from Buffalo, NY came aboard and slayed some great fish in less than 2 hours. Our first bait in the water caught the attention of a solid fish. Finally getting the fish to the boat I see the 'stripes' we all like to see. Mr. Wahoo was stuck on the line. 35 pounder in the boat. Emmediately went back to the area we were but we weren't that fortunate. But as we pushed inside our baits get slammed again and we put a nice Kingfish over 20 pounds in the boat. As we slide in even more a nice school of Dolphin come through. We had 1 on the line and kept him close to the boat so teh school would stick around. They did but they wouldn't eat anything, jigs, small Pilchards. My crew took enough of a beating and we headed in early gangsta style, quickly out and quickly back in.
I am highly anticipating the next few months fishing. If its anything like the past week were going to be having alot of fun. I'm on a mission, to take you all fishing! Let's get em!
