The Marlin Bite got hot in the Puertorican trench and also some action in the west.
September 21, the boat double hook released a nice fish out of Cangrejos yacht Club. Saturday September 22 the Guaraguao Fishing team released a nice Pichincho blue.
San Juan action began September 25, while all boats were getting ready to fish the IBT 59 The boat AMBAR a Kincheole Nickerson 44 went 4-6 to warm up the engines before the tourney.
First Day of Fishing for the IBT 59. A total of 43 vessels signed in and 30 fish were released. Satelite tags used for the great marlin race and national geographic placed two critter cams. Gin Pole Ade 3releases, Sea Born 3releases, Gaviota 3 releases, Amirita 2 releases and Anamarina 2 releases were the top boats of the first day. IMPORTANT FACT The top boats of the first day were the two oldest hulls participating in the tournament. (Gin pole ade norsman replica 1974 and sea born hatteras 1969) both boats were owned by the late Mike Benitez at some point in time.
Day two IBT 59. A total of 29 fish were released. Top boats Gaviota 5 releases, Anamarina 4 release, Sea born 4 releases, ginpole ade 4 releases and 50/50 3 releases.
Friday sept 28 rest day and fishing continues sept 29-30.
