I have been running trips everyday over this past week and the fishing has been good but the big fish are few and far between. We can catch some up to 5 lbs or so but the clients and I haven't had any over that. We have been catching 45 to 60 fish a day so at least the action is steady. I believe that most of the big fish are in that post spawn funk that they always go through. Best baits for me are moving baits like crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and traps. We have also caught some fish on spooks, popping baits and plastics.Fish are biting a 1/2 oz. LiL' Hustler jig also. There are a lot of fry balls moving around to. The shad spawn hasn't started yet but as soon as the water temp warms back up into the mid 70's they should get going. In the mornings the surface temp has been around 66 and is warming to 70 by the end of the day. The water is really clean right now in some of the areas of the lake. The milfoil is coming on strong and in some places is almost tall enough to start flipping it. Which I can't wait for. There is a lot of milfoil growing on the ledges to but that bite is just starting to come on. In another week or two they will be on fire.
Sorry for not getting more reports in to you but my computer has been down and I still can't get my pictures to load. Hopefully I will get that working so I can post some pictures.
I have days open if anyone wants to go.
I hope that all this rain coming in doesn't mess things up to much. I seen earlier that it is coming in on Friday night and will be here until next Wednesday. They said we could see up to 4 inches or more.
Good luck out there.
