Fishing for G.R.Colford & Sons on the South West Miramichi on Friday evening was very slow. We saw only 2 salmon roll at Bounds Pool. The water temp was 68 F. Carl Hallihan with sport did manage to get there heart started when they hooked into a Shadwhile fishing for Salmon. It was around 4lb's.
This morning we seen several fish moving at the Half Bar some around the 25 to 30 pound range. My clients gave me a chance and I did bring one up on a Orange hackle white body bomber, size 2. There was a guy fishing above us that also raised 2 on a green machine. The water tempature was 62 F and dropping. We had showers all morning here on the river. All fish we seen this morning seem to be traveling very fast through the pools. The next few days are going to be overcast with some showers which could make it very good fishing. What fish we are seeing they seem to be very fussy in taking a fly. Lets hope with a change in the Moon and weather that they may start going for the fly.
