Most of the fishing right now is for Chinook salmon, however a few halibut are being caught when the weather is conducive to fishing on open ocean. The weather has been quite furious over the past few weeks with not too many people getting out. Our guide Dan had a good morning last Sunday taking 3 Chinook around 15 lbs on small Coyote and Silver Horde spoons. Chinook fishing has also been decent over on the south side of Barkley Sound close to Bamfield. We will start getting better reports when the weather calms down and we get closer to the summer season. During the early season you will have the option of getting either crabs or prawns on your fishing trip.

Here is the latest video that we have released from last summer's Ucluelet Salmon Derby morning August 14 with a top prize of $10,000. We got two just under 35 lbs this morning and there was lots of action!
