Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 10/21/12
It's an up and down pattern that seems to dominate the lake so far over most of this year of fall fishing. Trying to establish a pattern that exist from one day to another really test your fishing ability. The bass are stacking up near the transition areas but getting them to bite has been a test of patience as well!
This past week I spent most of the time on the water with average anglers who needed some easy bites to gain the confidence it takes to stick with a pattern, in order to make their day successful and that was a challenge. I believe that the best bite for us came on small worms off grass points in the coves and pockets off the main lake, there seemed to be plenty of bites but the fish were small. The one day I had a tournament angler we found some good frog fish on Spro frogs and had a few areas where the Punisher short arm spinner bait white in color with white blades ½ oz. in size, produced some good opportunities.
The fall bite is all about making your bait presentation appeal to a bass over the endless amount of small bait fish, some days we can do and others we struggled.
