Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 10/31/15
Guntersville is once again extremely busy as another big tournament hit the water ways today Saturday 10/31. Boats covered up the lake all week as many of the entries were practicing looking for that big sack prior to the tournament. The problem was many of them were met with tough conditions and if I measured the amount of phone calls and begging I got for help as well as fisherman I fished with they are struggling for sure.
Most of my days on the water had ups and downs as the bass for sure have not moved to that feeding frenzy we all expect this time of year. The grass mats are for sure breaking up; the water temperatures are dropping and as the top surface level of water pushes down the water table dissolved oxygen level at the deeper levels will continue to increase the activity.
I did continue to work a SPRO frog a lot this past week, but I am continually adding different types of baits to my arsenal to cover more water quicker to determine what the fish are responding too. I am fishing flukes, around the grass edges, rattle baits SPRO Aruka Shad 3/8 oz. in more of the open water areas and SPRO crank baits off the drops and points to find the fish.
With the activity level being way behind the norm, November should see some great fishing and if winter continues to move later into the year we could still see some great fishing in December.
Come fish with me I have guides and days available to fish with you; no one will treat you better!
