Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 10/2/10
The cooler weather and rain has pushed us much closer to the fall bite; the bass are showing definite signs of fall and we had some sure signs of fall results this past week. The early part of the week was the best as our 5 fish sack was up there in weight and the numbers were good as well. The bigger fish started showing their self as we had one monster on Monday.
Secondly as we have always experienced in fall fishing the bass are starting to follow the bait fish regardless of cover, so we also found some numbers off the grass lines and in the ditches where the bait had moved to escape the late week winds.
The exciting thing this past week is the "rat" bite showed signs of improving as well and the crank bait bite off and away from the grass lines picked up also. By the time the end of the week was here the bass were hammering Tight-Line jigs in the ditches around the hidden 10 ft. wood. It's time to turn your Lowrance structure scan back on and look for off shore stumps and rocks covered in bait as the bass are there with them.
A lot better week with size and catches; much more pleasant temperatures and some fall fishing results to be proud of.
