Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 10/30/10

This past week on the water was one of the most productive weeks I have had in quite-a-while. I believe that the fall has set in and the bass are moving in stages up for some feeding prior to winter setting in. We did however have one bad day but that was purely the result of winds near 30 miles per hour.

Most of the week we had to fish with baits that we could move slowly, and let them drop for a few seconds and twitch them with patience. Sinko's and trick worms worked with other slow moving baits. You had to work all day long with extreme patience as we did not get one bite on any type on search baits. The result was some 20 plus pound 5 fish stringers and numbers up there in the 30 fish catch and above.

The key is the bass aren't everywhere, and the bait fish are just not as thick as many other falls in the past years. You have got to find the bait and find the active areas to catch fish. When you do slow down and work the area thoroughly.
