Fishing Report Lake Guntersville 11/15/09
With only a few days on the lake this week I must say that I was well pleased, the bass are in a typical November pattern and they are active was again! With the past month being so tough for me I must say some typical patterns were a welcome site. This is shaping up to be a November to Remember and I am tickled to death!
My days on the water were spent in the mid part of the lake; the bass were hitting a variety of fast moving baits from rattle baits to small Secret Weapon spinner baits; as long as you kept your bait over the top of the grass you have a chance of catching a fish on any cast.
Most of the days on the water were short days and we averaged 12 to 20 bass in that short time. There were a lot of strikes and several misses that would have resulted in some better numbers had we hooked them up. The more experienced fisherman was greeted by a hollow body rat bite over most of the remaining grass areas, there were some monster blow ups and big fish caught on the traditional rat in the upper part of the lake.
We have a few weeks left before it turns cold, I expect some great fishing still remains. I believe December will slow considerable until the winter solstice and we should start to see some longer days and some strong mid day fishing.
