Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 11/21/09
The week before Thanksgiving proved to be a lot of fun for the few times I was on the water. With a limited number of fishermen on the water, the fish are fairly active around grass edges in shallow water. If you wanted a big bite and had a little patience with a hollow body frog there was a big fish to be caught. The key word here was patience, you had to be willing to fish for 6 to 9 bites and only a few hook ups.
I truly expect any day now that the weather will turn cold and we will struggle until the warming sun and longer days turn the fish back on again. Until then lets enjoy the late summer pattern and keep hooking up and having fun.
Most of the week was spent in the mid part of the lake, we fished small arm spinner baits Secret Weapon assassinator spinner baits that make noise as it is designed so the blades clang and become noisy while retrieving. This is a great short arm blade and this time of year is just perfect to fish over grass and along edges of the cove, as it comes in oz. size that is just perfect for late summer.
I'll be back at it for the first 2 days of Thanksgiving week and then off to some family fun and time off until the following week.
