Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 1/12/13
With the warming temperatures being on the water was certainly pleasant, and for the few days I was out there the fish cooperated pretty well. As is always the case this time of year just a little warming trend and we start to see some pre-spawn movement.
We fished mainly up river this past week except for one day, the grass is starting to erode and float away and it made it a pain to try to move rattle baits through the floating grass, but we did manage to catch some fish on rattle baits. Our main bait as is mostly the case this time of year is Tight-Line jigs around drops, humps, rock and lay downs along the edges. Some good catches a lot of fun and fish cooperated it just doesn't get much better than that.
Coming up the 1st of February is the 1st of what could be an annual rattle trap tournaments sponsored by Bill Lewis baits along with Duckett Rods and Vicious Fishing; you must fish Bill Lewis rattle baits. It will be hosted by Jamie Shay at Goose Pond Colony, you can call them for entry forms. You can bet with Jamie running it, this will be a first class tournament.
Come fish with me, I have days available to fish with you; no one will treat you better!
