Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 12/10/11
I finally got my 2012 Ranger in and spent some time this week fishing and breaking in the motor Yamaha Sho 250(the 10 hr. initial break in). As is always the case making a smooth transition between team boats is always a challenge but the 2012 Ranger boat is beautiful and certainly worth some of the wait and hassle.
While on the water as most have found fishing is good, numbers are up, size is up and it's a lot of fun out there for an early December. I fished several different baits this week and found most were productive as long as you were around the bait fish. I caught them on square bill crank baits, big worms, A-Rig, jerk baits and Tight-Line jigs. Just about anything you fished caught fish, it was spotty not all areas of the lake are created equal, but the bass are ganged up and catching is good.
It should be great winter fishing as it is as good as it gets for this time of year and I expect there is plenty more to come! I still have a few Christmas gift certificates available for sale; they are a real great gift for the fisherman at Christmas.
We will resume meeting for the LGRA in January; notice of time and place should be coming out shortly. I am booking trips for spring and early summer fishing, looking for another great year. Come fish with me I have days available to fish with you!
