Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 12/1/12
Can it already be December, and the heart of winter fishing is right around the corner. Man does time fly it won't be long before I am talking about spring time fishing again.
This past week was all about the wind, hard to believe but true the wind produced active fish and without it was a struggle. It just seemed that the bait stacked up more on the windy days and caused the fish to be much more active. It's also important to note that for me there was basically no early bite; so the need to hit the lake at first light was just not there.
Lure selection was very common for most, this time of year is generally about what you can get to the bottom and fish slow, and this week was no exception. Carolina rigs deep off the grass edges, A-rigs on the bottom, Tight-Line jigs on the bottom and jerk baits suspending caught fish most of the week. The jerk bait bite seemed stronger in the high sunny part of the day as the suspending fish seemed to react to it!
Fishing is good, the days on the water are fun and there is plenty more to come. Christmas is coming a great present for the person that is hard to buy for is a Christmas gift certificate for a fishing day on the water and I sell a limited number every year.
