Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 12/1/13
The water temperature has dropped to the low and mid 40's and winter fishing is upon us. When we turn to these conditions your chances of catching a trophy bass goes up, your numbers go down but the chance at a trophy is worth it. We experienced this all week this past week with bites being slow but size being the reward.
We fished drops from 15 to 20 ft. of water, the fish pushed up to the flats during the day and suspended off the deeper edges in the coldest part of the day. We fished Tight-Line jigs on Duckett rods with Missile Bait D-Bomb trailers and worked our bait slow targeting the tight spots on the edges. This is also a time of year where a jigging spoon has been successful working suspending fish in the deeper water.
With the BASS Classic going in February we should see the qualifying pros all over the lake this month as they prepare for their super bowl of fishing. Come fish with me I have guides and days available to fish with you! No one will treat you better!
