Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 12/19/09
Well here we are in mid to late December and the bass fishing, despite the cold remains pretty good! The bites are hit and miss but the results at the end of the day remain good. This past week I fished 2 times with fairly good results both days. The patterns were completely different but the results were the same, we caught several fish in a short period of time on the water.
The first day we found some bass chasing shad in 46- degree water, we started chucking top water baits at them and ended the day with 17 fish all caught on top. The second day we found fish around grass edges in 5 to 9 feet of water catching them on small Punisher Shaky heads and on small crank baits. Both days were short 4-hour days, had a lot of fun found some decent bass.
We will soon be on the upper end of the shortest day of the year; that means the days will start to get longer by about a-minute-and-a-half every day. When this occurs it just takes a few sunny days to start the run into the pre-spawn and I expect it to be another great pre-spawn fishing this year.
I am trying to get my new 2010 Stratos ordered so I have my 2009 Stratos Evolution for sale please call if your interested its loaded and beautifully colored.
