Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 12/26/10
With the holidays and the busy days around Christmas I only spent one day on the water this past week, but I must say it was the kind of day that takes your breath away. The big fish were out just looking to become part of my picture album.
I fished up river working over grass in a warmer morning, it was very interesting as the morning water temperature was in the mid to high 40's and by the time we came off the water the cold north wind dropped the water temperature a good 5degrees. Most our fish were caught in less than 6 feet of water which was a little surprising after such a cold spell in the early part of the week. The bigger fish were caught on Punisher Spinner Bait 3/8 oz silver shad colored spinner bait with dual willow leaf silver blades.
We had a good day caught several good fish that were just big footballs and looked like they were ready to pop any minute. I fished with my partner Jake Davis we had a great day and as the winter moves on and the days get longer they will only get better. I believe the winter will be as good as we have seen in a couple of years as we seem to be back to some normal winter weather patterns, with early December cold and warming trends every 4 or 5 days. Come fish with me I have days available to fish with you!
