Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 1/26/14
With North Alabama being in the grip of some of the coldest days in many years, the trips for me on the water were limited at best. The early part of the week was pleasant and certainly bearable as far as weather went the fishing was also fairly typical with numbers being down and size being up! Catching several good solid fish between 5 and 7 pounds but bites were limited.
The good news is the grass is dying out exposing the fish as they are easy to find but getting them to bite in this extremely tough cold weather is another issue. What has been working is the SPRO Aruka Shad, also Tight-Line jigs and SPRO Little John 60 crank baits. Presentation for these baits is all over the map, work them as many ways as you can create ideas and when you find a presentation that works stick with it.
Come fish with me, fishing is fun, weather is tough, bites are good fish and you can still have a lot of fun as to me there is nothing better than some big winter hogs pulling on the end of your line.
