Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 1/30/10
This past week has been the start of the great spring pre-spawn fishing on Guntersville. The big hogs are moving up and feeding and if you're in the right spot at the right time you loaded the boat this past week. It's already taken 30 plus pounds to win local tournaments so you better bring you A-game when you enter the local money tournaments.
I fished most of the week between the State Park and BB Comer Bridge and had some pretty good results. We either caught big fish or found a way to find some good active numbers and some great fun! I really believe that the sunny warmer afternoons are moving the fish and when it does rattle baits seem to be the bait of choice. In the cooler earlier part of the day we had to slow down and work Punisher Shaky Heads or dead stick Mister Twister Comida's. When we were around stumps we worked Tight-Line jigs and caught fish early in the day.
