Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 1/31/09
The information I am about to pass on is second hand as I did not get on the water this past week as I had to help my wife through some emergency surgery.
Those that made it to the lake this week found that the bites were scarce, and the size was down. Most had a hard time putting measuring fishing in the boat. The bites they did find were mostly up river or the lower end; as the mid river area appears to be slower than the already mentioned.
It appears that the fish that are being caught are coming up on the shallow tops of the flats and feeding for a short period of time. Rattle baits have put most the fish in the boat with some still finding a few bites on jerk baits. I did get an opportunity to talk with a friend that fished and caught some fish working Secret Weapon Recoil rigs in about 9 feet of water with a swim bait attached to the hook.
