Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 2/10/18
The lake is getting hot no doubt about it, this week I had one of the best days of the short 2018 season; the big fish are on the move and looking like big footballs. No there not everywhere but there are schools of big fish loading up in 8 to 12 ft. of water and when you find one it’s on!
The key as always when the fish group is to keep moving until you locate a school; when you find them lock in your Spot Lock and game on! I fished several baits this week using some as locaters by fishing slow and others for reaction bites both presentations produced using different baits. My first choice was a Tight-Line football jig working it around edges of structure letting it entice with some stroking technique also. I also dropped a missile bait “48” stick bait on a Whacky Rig; moved on to a few faster baits SPRO Aruka Shad and Picasso Shock Waves moving them erratically around structure. The water was muddy in spots and clear in spots, so I looked for mud lines to determine my stops.
Fishing is almost ready to break wide open; come fish with me no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great day on the water.
