Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 2/17/18
This past week was the best of the 2018 season without a doubt, the bass were on the move and catching was much easier than any other day so far, this 2018 season. It’s still not what it can be, and the bass are not everywhere but finding a group was much easier. The key was finding that bite and sticking with that pattern when you did.
The weather helped as the rain raised the water levels and pushed the fish shallow and the mud created lines pushed the fish to the clearer edges. We caught fish in 2 to 6 ft. of water using a variety of baits from SPRO Aruka Shad to Picasso Shock Waves and more. When we slowed we picked up whacky rig Missile Bait ‘48” stick baits along with Tight-Line football jigs. The truth was that it was not really about the bait it was more about locating and sticking to it.
The 2018 season is showing signs that Guntersville is coming back strong and this should be a great season. Come fish with me no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great day on the water. With a group of 5 guides we can fill most requests up to the last minute, we are on the water day in and out and would love to take you fishing.
