Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 2/4/17
With the FLW Tour and some of the best anglers in the world on Lake Guntersville I thought I would give you some facts to digest for the first two days of the tournament. After 3 days of practice one media day and 2 days of fishing the tournament has narrowed the field down to 20 fishermen and the winner will come out of the top 20 anglers.
The results for me this past week for my own fishing had some ups and downs, days where the fished moved some we had some good results; other days we struggled so a mixed bag of results on my part. Let's examine the first two days of tournament results based on the FLW anglers on the lake as we speak.
The top 2 anglers after day 2 are the only bags that have averaged over 20 lbs. per day. The day 1 leader Jay Kendrick with over 25 lbs. had his bridge pattern fall apart on day 2 weighing in just 1 fish and missing the top 20 cut by 6 places. After the top 2 we have 7 anglers averaging 17 to 18 lbs. per day; 11 anglers averaging 15 to 16 lbs. p/day; 23 anglers with 12 to 13 lbs. p/day; 32 anglers with 10 to 11 lbs. p/day and the balance with 2 to 9 lbs. p/day or less. Break that even further there are 22 anglers that weighed in the limit of 5 fish per day and 27 anglers averaging 4 fish per day. Granted these are keepers having to be over 15 inches to be brought to the scale. Some averages to digest, this means that 15 anglers averaged 15 to 20 lbs. p/day; 47 anglers averaged 10 to 14 lbs. p/day; and 69 anglers averaged 5 to 9 lbs. p/day with a few that did not weigh in a fish. These are a quick overview of the numbers on my part I did not do any great mathematical analysis just enough to give a look.
These are the facts as they stand after 2 days hope this gives you a view of how the lake is fishing.
