Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 2/13/11

The late week warm up pushed the fish up shallow and the pre-spawn rush was on by the end of the week. It was just amazing how a few degrees of water temperature gave the bass some energy and got them feeding in shallow water. They weren't everywhere but they bunched up and fed in groups and when you caught one you caught several.

Baits were pretty simple, if it moved they ate it, from spinner baits to rattle baits and swim baits they feed on anything that made noise and moved erratically. You had to keep moving from secondary point to point, keep reeling and fishing but eventually they showed up and we had some good catches.

The good times are here once again, it will get better and better as we get into spring. There will surely be some set-backs as the winter is far from over but for the most part, those who fish hard will be rewarded with great catches.
