Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 2/20/11
This past week still required some work to find the fish. It was really surprising as the water temperatures hit the 50's the bass still did not move in large groups and to get bit still required a lot of searching and bait changing.
After a couple of slow days we finally found some fish but it wasn't easy.
The good news was we found them the bad news was they were smaller fish nothing over 3 pounds and mostly male buck bass. I also believe the noisy rattle bait was just too much pressure and too many fishermen for the bass to eat it, as the lake was just covered up all week with anglers.
So we had to go quiet with a lot of vibration and erratic movement; we also had to move away from the heavy traffic and move to more discrete locations to get the fish to bite.
If the weather stays warm I expect the deeper water to show a warming trend and that should move the bass out of the deeper water. This warm up is a little early and the bass natural biological clocks may not be ready to move them toward the spawn, everyday however gets us closer and the bass will move any day now.
