Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 2/21/09
This past week has been the best of 2009 so far. I was on the water fishing practically everyday; we caught fish on every trip and had some good size and numbers all week long. I found that regardless of skill level it was a week that every level of bass fisherman could catch fish. If you could reel, you could put bass in the boat. The rattle bait bite was on and should remain strong for several weeks.
As I traditionally do this time of year I spent all week up river, where the fish turn on for me quicker than the other parts of the lake. We found bass in shallow water during the mid part of the day and deeper early and late, they move a lot this time of year with the warming sun and back out as we move to the lower light part of the day.
My customers averaged 15 to 22 bass a day on an 8 hour day and less for the short days. It was a great week and only will get better as the month moves on. I saw many smiling faces from customers and had a very rewarding week on the water. It won't be long and the bass will be in the spawn, as I have stated before the Secret Weapons Recoil Rig will be a great bed fishing tool; you need to stock up on them now.
Waterfront Tackle is now selling the Secret Weapon Lures spinner baits and buzz baits and you can buy from them or go on line and go to www.secretweaponlures.com if you buy on line, feel free to use my 30% discount code (case sensitive) FLGGS9 this is only good on-line.
Come fish with me I have days open to fish with you!
