Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 2/23/13
The water didn't warm any this past week, in fact it probably dropped a couple of degrees because of the cold nights; fishing remained up and down because of it! The one thing you can bet on in North Alabama in February is constant temperature change, we can go from the 20's to the 70's and this provides for daily change in patterns for the fish.
Adapting to this change and finding active fish is always a challenge, and this past week was no different; one day we would struggle for a bite and the next day we might find some grouped up willing to offer up some fun. I was on the water for four days and everyday was different, we caught some fish but we worked for the bites.
We are still basically using similar baits over the past few weeks with a jig being our best producer most of the week. We also fished square bill crank baits, deep diving crank baits and Spro rattle baits.
