Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 2/9/13
After some of the nastiest weather of the winter last Saturday 1/2/13, where the bass we really cooperating, I hit a dead period where it was hard to get a bite. We went from ice falling from the sky along with high water wind and rain to some sunny high pressure days and the bass did not cooperate. We struggled for bites until late in the week where there was a sizable pick-up in activity.
We got back to some overcast skies and warmer temperatures and there was certainly much improved activity. We are seeing some mid 50 degree water now and as the water temperature improves we should see more activity at all stages of the pre-spawn. Although there will be continued change in temperature here in North Alabama, we will see many fronts go through and fishing will be very dependent on weather.
We spent most of the week fishing Tight-Line jigs, Missile Baits D-bombs and Spro rattle baits and crank baits; we are also starting to work Punisher Spinner Baits over humps and drops around the lake.
Come fish with me I have days available to fish with you, no one will treat you better!
