Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 3/10/18
As we entered this past week we had seen a drastic weather change pushing back a lot of the progress the bass had made slowing their movement and reducing the numbers compared to the past few weeks. Although size was good and for me some of the best of the year, numbers took a hit. Then, the end of the week dropped the water temperature down below 50 degrees adding to some tough conditions this past week.
The good news is the jig bite turned on and my tackle box of Tight-Line football jigs kicked off the rust and caught good solid fish and most of the numbers we caught this past week. One of their newest colors which is a Guntersville special color with some purple added really made for some good solid catches. We also caught a few on SPRO Aruka shad but for me it was not the bait of choice. We fished mainly 3 to 5 ft. of water having to work deeper as the colder nights changed the fish from the beginning if the week to the end.
Spring is upon us; we are close to the prime time and with many days of spring breaks coming for the young people its time to book your trip on Lake Guntersville.
