Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 3/18/17
The extreme cold kept me off the water most of this past week, either my customers changed their fishing date or I moved some things around. I guess I am just not as tough as I use to be and being out on the water in 20 degree temperatures with a strong northwest wind is not my thing at least at this point in my fishing career.
The last day I was on the water the water temperatures dropped down to the low to mid 50's so slowing down was a key to catching fish for me. We were literally dragging Missile bait stick baits "48" on the bottom letting the worm do the work for us. It did result in some good fish but the numbers really suffered. We also slow rolled Punisher ½ oz. spinner baits letting them tick the bottom and kick up mud around them. This produced bigger bites for us during our time on the water. The toughest of fisherman made it happen last week, my hats off to them.
Come fish with me no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great time on the water. I believe the spawn got delayed with this cold spell and the biggest wave of bass should move up any day now once we get a little warming trend. I have days and guides available to fish with you; we fish with great sponsor products, Vicious Line, Navionics mapping, Duckett rods and reels, Lowrance Electronics Tight-Line jigs and more.
