Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 3/13/10
As bad as it was last week, the lake has recovered and we are finally into the good times again on the lake. The week was great, the numbers were up and the size was up and the pre-spawn bite has finally arrived. After all the struggles the water is hitting the low 50's in temperature and the bass reacted to the change. We had some 20 plus pound 5 bag stringers and we caught upwards to 30 fish on a day's trip.
I can finally relax and fish with confidence that the bass will hit with some consistency throughout the day. The bass are reacting to several types of baits from rattle baits, and Punisher Spinner Baits as well as Punisher Shaky Heads rigged with Go-2-Bait Shaky worms. We have also caught them on small crank baits over the grass. The good times are back and it will only get better. All these baits producing for me can be bought locally at Waterfront and Keller's Tackle Stores.
The bass could move directly to the spawn so work the flats and spawning areas along with your typical pre-spawn patterns. My schedule is booked up until the last week of March, come fish with me I have days available to fish with you.
