Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 3/20/10
The week started out with cold windy weather and over cast skies, the bass stayed out off the breaks suspending and made it difficult to get a bite. The sun and warmer weather finally prevailed and the bass turned on like it was pre-spawn and the later part of the week proved to be a whole lot better.
The bait of choice for the later part of the week was Punisher Spinner Baits in watermelon color ¾ oz. it produced several big fish for us and was definitely what the fish wanted. We also fished Tight-Line jigs in crawfish color ½ or ¾ oz. , Go-2-Baits Shaky worms, on a Punisher Shaky Head, rattle baits and jerk baits over the period of the week. We did a little cranking also, stroking 4 to 5 ft. crank bait looking for a reaction bite.
With the week ending strong and the sun and warm weather nearer, the fishing should be getting better and better every day. I really look for the fish to jump strong into pre-spawn this next week with bed fishing being right around the corner.
Come fish with me I have days available to fish with you.
