Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 3/6/11

This was definitely the best week of the year so far; we consistently caught fish for the last 7 days straight. The days all started fairly similar as we struggled in the morning until about 11am and then they turned on for the rest of the day. It's like a light got turned on everyday and the fish started to move and bite for the rest of the day.

This week we had several fish caught over 7 pounds with one monster over 10 lbs. and that was caught by a lady out the Chicago area, practicing for an up-coming tournament. The good news is the fish are just moving up for the pre-spawn fishing movement and the best of the pre spawn is yet to come.

We caught fish on several baits this week the best catcher was Tight-Line football head jigs in black and blue color. We did catch them on rattle baits, crank baits and swim baits. The fish are staged in the 8 ft. drops and the jig bite was the perfect choice.

The spring bite is getting better and the best is yet to come.
