Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 3/7/15
We are still suffering from the winter that will just not end, we start to see some pre-spawn push from the fish and then we get hit with another frigid cold front that sets us backwards; causes cancelations and raises havoc with the pattern we discovered a few days before. We are approaching the middle of March and this "global warming" we keep seeing has to end shortly!
Regardless of the weather the bigger fish are certainly feeling the need to spawn and should be sitting out in front of their normal spawning grounds just waiting for their bodies to tell them it is time. This past week with all the cancellations I still managed a few days on the water with mixed results. Our presentations haven't changed much over the past month with SPRO Aruka Shad rattle baits, Tight-Line Swim jigs with Missile baits Shock Wave swim baits leading the way with most my time on the water. We did a little switching to crank baits and soft plastics to test some different presentations, with some positive results.
I feel bad for all the great folks that planned to come here during this last month of unseasonal temperatures, but this will pass and the norm will fold back into our patterns and we will be forgetting about how cold it was! Come fish with me no one will treat you better!
