Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 4/23/16
This past week on Guntersville was challenging for sure, endless tournaments as always and tough fishing; in all the years I have fished Guntersville this April has proven to be the most challenging over many years. If the bass are there they are well hidden and not making much of a move at all to the shallows. I believe the spawn is over and the numbers are just way down and we are in for a long haul to return to greatness.
Having said that we did have a few days with some fair catches, you just can't miss your opportunities and on the days we caught fish we had very few misses. My bait selection has really become limited to just a few baits, Missile bait D-Stroyers and D-Bombs and SPRO Baby Little John crank baits, and lastly Tight-Line swim jigs rigged with Missile bait Shock Wave swim baits.
We fished many types of patterns from lay downs and rocky banks to humps, river ledges and creek beds; come fish with me I have guides and days available to fish with you.
