Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 4/2/11
The change back to some cooler weather had an effect on the fishing this past week. Besides the north wind making it a little uncomfortable it also slowed the bite down at least one of the days this past week. I do believe however it was all about pattern, presentation and time of day! If you stuck to the ups and downs by fishing hard eventually you found the fish!
It was very much still about the jig bite, I believe that there is so little grass because of the high, muddy water that you had to really fish structure to get a bite. Rocky banks are proving to be the correct structure at least it was for three of the days on the water. There was definitely a down time everyday during the mid part of the day from about 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, so you had to mentally fish push thru that slow part of the day. Presentation was simple; move that jig off the bottom in a crawfish type movement and you we caught fish most of the day!
As long as the good Lord is willing I'll be back at this next week; the good times are here and it getting better every day.
