Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 5/13/17
There is no question that this past week was the best week of the year on the water; size was decent, numbers were excellent and the bass responded to many types of presentations. The even better news in my thoughts was the fact that the number of small fish we caught was very good indicating that maybe the health of the lake has turned a cycle to an upside and we are seeing the return of much better fishing than we have seen in a few years. It's certainly not a certainty but I like what I am seeing.
The most fun we had, been with the top water bite over real shallow water; two to three ft. deep with grass bottom and the bass were stacked up with us catching many times in the first hour 20 or more fish. That was a blast, it was easy fishing for my customers in this case a corporate group we had for 4 days and there were several 4 to 5 lb. fish caught on top also. Several of the guides put 35 to 40 fish a day in the boat, had 3 to 5 big fish during the day and had activity or chances all day long; to me this is what folks come to Guntersville to experience. Biggest fish for the week between all the boats was 8.74 lbs. a monster for this post spawn time of year.
Come fish with us no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great time on the water. It's the perfect time for corporate trips or groups of fishermen looking to get on the lake as fishing is good and easier than most other times of the year. I have guides and days available to fish with you we fish with great sponsor baits, supply rods reels and tackle and work hard for you on the water.
