Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 5/8/16
This past week really changed in a positive way; there were some great catches in numbers, size and action all week long. Just an impressive week on the water, one comment I heard this week was there appears to be many more post spawn fish than we saw spawning; I agree. Obviously the spawn was different this year as their traditional spots for spawning were just not there.
There was one bait that really stood out for me this past week, nothing else was even close a Tight-Line swim jig has really produced this past week, catching lots of fish and getting lots of bites. I have been throwing the ½ oz. pink, blue and white coloring with Missile Bait shock Wave swim bait. The confusing thing was that the deep crank bait bite got slowed by the cold weather and moved the fish off some of deeper cranking spots. I suspect it will take some heat to move them back to the cranking type locations.
It was a great week and there are many more to come; come fish with me no one will treat you better or see that you have a great time on the water. I have days and guides available to fish with you.
