Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 5/30/09
Everyday on the water this past week seemed different from the day before. The catches varied from 15 or so fish to 30 or more and the bass seemed to want a different presentation everyday. We had a great day on top water one day and other days we couldn't get them to hit top water baits.
I fished a variety of trips this past week also, some local folks, others from as far away as Oklahoma. Skill sets all different and reasons for being there were all different. We fished the mid part of the river one day and the upper parts on others. We had a great day on Mister Twister lizards and worms and one day we caught them pretty good on crank baits working the ledges. One day we found them in real shallow water around wood and just caught doubles and the like all day long. Some variety for different types of fisherman but all said a good week with some great people from all walks of life.
We are now turning to the summer bite as the sunshine and hot summer days set in, it should help that grass grow and offer some great top water fishing the rest of the summer. I expect the mornings to be great and then a slower bite in the mid part of the day, with the evening bite picking up as the sun starts to set in late afternoon.
