Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 6/11/16
It's been a different kind of year as the fishing has been better in the months of May and now June than they were in March and April which are generally the best months of the year for me. I believe the onset of the ell grass is changing some of the dynamics of the lake; it's more prevalent in the lake than ever and I believe it's causing a pattern change as the fish are just doing different things in terms of patterns that I have ever experienced. I know the fishing pressure is greater than ever and that combined with bottom change from the ell grass could be also some of the reason for the change.
The change has produced some 10 to 14 ft. cranking opportunities this past week, with the bass so buried in or near the grass a SPRO Baby Little John has produced over the deeper grass. Running that bait in and around this mid-range depth is getting us some great bites and producing numbers at different times. I am still working Tight-Line swim jigs rigged with Missile Bait Shock Wave swim baits over the top of the grass and that has been my go-to bait for several weeks now.
Fishing is good there more opportunities that ever and we are having lots of fun; come fish with me no one will treat you better than we will! I have days and guides available to fish with you.
