Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 6/9/18
With the TVA pulling large amounts of water for most of the week adjustments had to be made every day depending on how the current was affecting the fish. Early in the week we found fish on main channel points moving out toward the ledges as the week moved on. The common thread was bait, it was moving constantly to get out of the strong current moving the bass with them; if you found the bait you found the bass. Overall fishing is great and June continues to be as good as it gets!
My bait selection had much to do with depth when the fish stayed around the main channel points we fished in 10 ft. of water as they progressed to the ledges we had to get to the 20 ft. depths to catch fish. With that in mind we fished Missile Bait Shock Wave swim baits off the points and SPRO crank baits off the deeper ledge areas. We also worked Tight-Line football jigs in the deeper water, we had to go heavy ¾ oz to get to the bottom with the strong current.
Come fish with me I have guides and days available to fish with you; June is always one of the most consistent months of the year, generally the bass find a location and stay there for a good 2 to 3 weeks. We fish with great sponsor products, Lowrance Electronics, T&H Marine Products, Navionics mapping, Power Pole, Vicious Line, Duckett rods and more.
