Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 6/16/13
The best way to sum up this past week is some inconsistency, we turned hot and humid then the weather turned back to a couple of cool north wind nights with cool morning temperatures that really changed the bite for me. We are also seeing the late morning bite change drastically as the bass are suspending in the mid heat part of the day.
I fished everyday this past week with mixed results, some good, some bad and some OK was the theme most of the week. The numbers have cut in half for a day with a good day being in the 25 fish range as compared to twice that a short few weeks ago.
We really concentrated on cranking most of the week fishing the Spro DD series crank bait off the ledges. We also fished Punisher Hail Mary football head with creature baits and Tight-Line jigs football head jig in the edges of the grass.
Fishing is still good enough to enjoy a day on the water, although I would limit the day to like 6 hours in the morning.
