Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 6/21/14
The lake is setting up to be one of the best summers we have had in a long time, the good news is the fish are still biting the bad news is there is not much grass and this is exposing the fish to be caught easier. There was no real problem this past week finding fish, they are in or near the grass and if you can fish them slowly you can catch fish.
It's been an amazing run on the lake since March and fishing has been relatively easy at all stages since then; just be on the water work just about any kind of bait and you will get a bite and have a chance to catch good fish.
We spent most of the week working grass 8 to 22 FOW and caught plenty of fish with good size and lots of bites. The key for us this past week was just a little current and you were getting chances to catch fish. We fished mainly Tight-Line jigs football head along the deep grass edges and worked a Tight Line swim jig over the tops of the humps with Missile Bait Shock Wave swim baits. I think this great fishing will continue all summer I look forward to some more great times.
The SPRO frog only tournament is getting close; sigh up now for the best and biggest event of the year, more give-away's than ever. Set your calendar for 9/6/14 we are expecting a $20,000 pay out.
