Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 6/7/14
With the summertime bite moving upon us and the heat setting in pretty strongly after 11 am in the morning I am trying to fish at the longest 6 hours days early or 4 hour days in the late afternoon. My recommendation to my customers is just to avoid the hottest part of the day. Having said that the bite is very strong early and after 5 in the afternoon, the light winds early and late have really added to some great success during these periods on the water.
We are continuing to have great success with fish being caught in the 6 pound range and lots of bites off the ledges, especially over the shell bed areas along them. We are concentrating on fishing about four different baits, SPRO deep crank baits, Tight-Line football head jigs, Punisher shakey heads and dragging balls like the Punisher Hail Mary.
Fishing is challenging as it is every summer but with good presentation skills and some coaching out on the water my customers are having great success. Come fish with me not only can we find you some great bites but I can help learn to fish deep, read your Lowrance products and teach you ledge fishing!
