Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 6/8/13
The past week started showing some signs that the dog days are nearing, and we will see some slowing going forward. To be expected for sure as we start to see water temperatures reach near 90 degrees. We slowed some this past week, as the mid day bite became a little harder to find with the bass suspending more over the drops and deeper water. We had to do a little more running with the boat to find active fish, but still a great week of fishing.
The presentations are starting to change as we are catching fish flipping big Tight-Line jigs or heavy weighted tubs in the grass. We also found fishing with Spro frogs around the Lilly pads and duck weed. When we found deep schools of fish we worked Spro DD 70 series crank baits and caught fish in 15 to 25 feet of water. There is also still a good jig bite on the grass edges in 15 or more feet of water, the Tight-Line foot ball head jig is producing very well for us. We had to be a little more patient, but fishing was still great and will be going forward.
Fish slow, fish deep, be patient and you will catch plenty of fish going forward!
