Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 8/24/14
This past week on the lake has been the most challenging of the year, we have had some water temperatures in the low 90's and just being on the water took some getting use too as it was hot and miserable past mid morning. The fishing was actually pretty good, but you had to catch your chances or the day got long and unrewarding. Missing was not an option, or your day was disappointing, but if you put them in the boat then you had a typical summer day with good size and fair numbers.
We found that our baits that we used were all successful if you found some active fish, we did well catching SPRO frog fish, and if you found the bait they would hit the frog. We also got back to some traditional worm fishing moving it slowly under the bait and along the grass lines; as has been the case for the last month the Tight-Line swim jig in white shad color along with a Missile Bait Shock Wave swim bait was also a good choice of baits.
Fishing is steady for the heat of August, sure there are better times of the year, but hay; if you want to get on the water and have that desire to do so you can have some fun! Come fish with me no one will treat you better!
