Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/29/17
There is just no question that this summer has been one of the best of the past many years, the bass are active and the schooling activity is excellent. I believe that the summer time rain we have had this year is keeping the oxygen levels up and the result is good fishing. The impressive thing for me is the frog bite is already here; it's like the old time summers of past your SPRO frog is producing already and it will be a great presentation all through the fall.
We are also having success with several baits in 8 to 12 ft. of water Missile Bait D-Bombs, their stick bait "48" have produced. I am back working a Punisher Spinner bait over grass its having some success; don't discount the results from Tight-Line football jig the deeper bites keeping this bait down has also produced some good fish. I think the key is finding the active areas looking for holes in the grass and having that sixth sense on when moving to another spot is important.
